H1Bs have to remain at the company that hired them for 4 years iirc.
I wish there was a way to ask them what they thought about H1Bs if their initial agreement is dropped to something like 18 months before they can approach another company. I figure that's enough time to get the engineer at slave wages and see if they are worth keeping. If they immediately say no, they can go rot in fucking hell as this is going to drive engineering salaries lower.

H1B visas are nothing but legalized indentured servitude, without even the hope of ever paying the indenture off.
