Ashley St. Clair O @stclairashley A big shot employment attorney in California called me last night re: H1B visa fraud / trafficking of workers. Here's what she said: The market is cornered by visa body shops who apply for ~50% of the visas. The economics of it: These body shops are headed by former hiring managers from Big Tech companies. They bring people to America, rent apartments for them, and house about 10 together in one apartment. They put these recipients through a ~4 week bootcamp of basic tech training, fraudulently rewrite their resumes, teach them how to interview. The body shops land them jobs, primarily at the companies these hiring managers came from, and pay the workers less than half of the money in hand.

Its nothing new. Been happening since the 90’s here. It was nurses back then. Most 3rd world country's have an Overseas worker office and many local companies recruiting their citizens to all Rich country's around the world. Not saying its right, but its more then an American problem if your concerned any for other people.
the job market for citizens, and recruiting in general, has abruptly gotten far worse since 2021 too, but unless you went through a layoff you wouldn't notice. after getting away with replacement for so long, they appear to have pulled out all the stops for some reason.
This is just another form of slave labor the Democrats and big corporations want.
Sadly Republicans tend to love these sorts of things too.
