I find it interesting that many think the H1B fiasco is part of a bigger plan, orchestrated by Trump to get people talking about immigration

I strongly lean that way as well but here is an additional idea that MIGHT be true.

Vivek and Musk are not a well versed on the nuances of these type of operations as Trump, so they let their emotions get the best of them in the back and forths and while more good will come of it in the long run, perhaps they did a little more damage to MAGA than expected in the short run.

So now the WH pivot and say "Okay just chill out for now" , lets not get too controversial until you are actually in.
