Not silly at all. Many versions of the bible have been significantly altered in key parts, whether intentionally deceptive or shallow interpretations. I love the KJV for many reasons, but one reason that is often overlooked is that the language generally aspires to be beautiful and poetic. I find the "red-letter" highlighted bibles to be distracting. It's quite subjective. I suggest going to a bookstore to get a feel for a few versions before picking.
