Not silly at all! I think you should read whatever you are most comfortable with. KJV has probably been messed with the least, but is the hardest to digest for me. I like NKJV, and have read it through. I also like NIV, and have read it through. Whatever version you read, set your heart and mind on the fact that God is absolutely powerful enough to preserve his word. If you have doubts about that like I did, I recommend a book or audio book by Chuck Missler called Learn the Bible in 24 hours. Satan has done some incredible work in placing doubt in our minds as to the accuracy of the Bible. To our detriment.
