Depends on the last time she changed the filter. It should be changed every 30 days. If you ask me, the fog is normal for an unseasonably warm/wet winter. As for chemical smells… fog retains pollutants in the air.
If the temperature and dew point are within 3F or 2C of each other, then you get fog… ie, it is not man-made.
