This is nice but it sounds like we'd still have to ask our state for permission to exercise our constitutional right before we can "freely" carry across state lines. There should be no laws prohibiting carry across state lines or in any city. He needs to affirm this and strike down any repugnant law violating our right.
I hope so. Every responsible adult should be proficient in using and maintaining any fire arm and be unhindered from keeping one on his or her person. This would stop a lot of the nonsense before it's acted on.
Nobody wants to hear this, but even now there won't be any solution to our political problems. I'm in CA, battered gun owner syndrome is real. It was decades of incremental cuts that got us here, and it will likely take decades of incremental cuts to get us out. Trump will help, but I'm not optimistic about drastic change. I've been burned too much to have anything other than realistic expectations. Truth is, the people that genuinely care about this stuff and realize the bad reality of this situation are carrying anyways and do their best to avoid places where trouble is. You could have a permit, use the correct gun, store it right, literally bend over backwards and the state WILL find something to get you for. Seen it many times. If they're gonna get you anyways, you might as well do the thing they hate. I understand the mindset.
In contrast, there should be no licenses of any kind for firearms, because the RTKBA is listed as a Constitutional Right. I don't have a "Free Speech Permission Slip", etc.

Could be that once this is done,it sets the tone for constitutional carry....

This is why a Jury is so important, here in Tulare County they tried to prosecute but could not seat an impartial Jury, no one would find him guilty.
Doesn't federal law override state law? I kinda think the constitution is a federal 'law'.
Yes, all gun laws are repugnant to and in violation of the Constitution.
I live in a state that has a stgand your ground law even if they are running away you still can shoot them.
You in TX Cap?
Florida would be my guess!
Agreed "yidngo" I sleep in Oregon and work in Idaho.
"Repugnant". I like where you are going. Marbury v Madison.
The idea that we have reciprocity on driver's license but not on the RTKBA is fucking insane.
A "Driver" was originally defined as a professional operating a Team of horses (8 usually) delivering large expensive items.
Later it was professional commercial vehicles. Like Digital ID's they are going to try to slip in Drivers License was slipped in to include all.
Fair point.
