Meanwhile, they essentially murder all the chickens. I paid almost $14 for a dozen eggs yesterday and that was only because on Sunday, the other store was completely out.
I hold my nose and go to (yecchh) Walmart for eggs, cream, butter, and cheese, because need healthy saturated animal fat and protein and to still have enough money to meet other obligations
Last month, I was in a feed store on the coast where they (usually) sell chicks. This must have been around the 15th. There was,a aign, 'No chicks available until January." So something is up.

Where did you pay $14 a dozen for eggs?? I just paid like $3.50 which is still way too high but $14?!
Lunardi's. Which is admittedly a more expensive store, but Safeway was out.
Wow insane.
They were $12 at my local grocery store.

What? You are not kidding, right? I am just north of you.
Nope. And that wasn't anything organic - you don't have a choice. Just plain old...eggs.
Wow. I would go to my frens and ask for some organic free range and it would have been cheaper. Darn.
