He resigned and we knew this was going to happen back in November. News Reports described Smith and the rest of the Special Counsel Office seeking to close up shop
This is from Nov 13th.
Jack Smith, the special counsel who pursued two federal prosecutions of Donald J. Trump, plans to finish his work and resign along with other members of his team before Mr. Trump takes office in January, people familiar with his plans said.
On Dec 30 he withdrew from the Mar a Lago case. Which is currently still active against the two other defendants. Smith gave it to the US attorney is South Florida.
So we knew he was leaving. What we learned in the footnote was the official date was the 10th.
My point was the made it seem like was going out quietly but he's not. He's going to give his say in his two reports.
This guy is really good. Great for people who like facts.
Hilarious: Jack Smith Flees DOJ in a FOOTNOTE (THAT WAS EMBARRASSING!!)
Fani Willis BUSTED, Sanctioned and ORDERED to Pay THOUSANDS (SHE DIDN'T LIKE THAT!!)
Watch Michael Cohen BEG for a Pardon (HE IS PATHETIC!!)
I think it's more than a footnote. He finished his report and Volume 1 is like 140 pages and it came out tonight. Here's a link
The announcenent of his dismissal was made in an actual footnote in the case. Hence the 'footnote' statement.
But it's audacious of the DoJ to release Volume 1 - thanks for link
He wasn't dismissed.
