The tears started flowing the second I heard this song begin yesterday. When it became clear four years ago that Biden would succeed in stealing the White House after his "win" was certified, I stayed up all night listening to this song over and over while I cried for the country and for POTUS. But I knew then that the fight Q said we'd face was just beginning. To hear it performed yesterday so perfectly as the choir marched through the Capitol building was stunning. To see their cheerful, hopeful faces while hearing these patriotic, spiritual words booming throughout the halls while so many devils were forced to stand there and listen as the it echoed through their heads that God still marches on was true victory. I don't think it would have had the same effect outdoors. This was powerful.
And it only continued throughout the night. Trump and Melania danced all night to Elvis: "Glory, glory, hallelujah. His truth is marching on."
It raised the hairs on the back of my neck. If I know a tune I generally recognise it straightaway. I heard the drums and wondered what was going to happen then we had the introduction and I knew that it was something I knew.
Then we got the "Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord," so there was no mistake, it was going to be: "Glory, glory, hallelujah." And then the penny dropped, it is known as: "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."
Let battle commence!
