Can't even dress to meet another president. How disrespectful is that? I bet Melania sets a wide berth around that individual. Not cultured at all. He makes delusional claims that he is going to defeat Russia. Fat chance. And why?

Anyway, the Europeans need to 'step up' their contributions [hint, they won't politically, and can't economically]. Without USA, NATO will die. But on the reverse, USA must be the most moral agent, because otherwise, they are fighting on European soil, to achieve a perverted goal. So carrot for Trump = peacemaker.

Zelensky is going to throw a tantrum now, honest, get popcorns. Expect foul language and bulging neck-veins.

Oh and Trump made the perfect phone call - to proceed with prosecution of corrupt individuals, especially surrounding Burisma. I am sure some lovely carrots will come for the US intel community, when Russia's intel becomes legible to them again. Perhaps they should learn Russian, like Ray MGovern, or Scott Ritter, for example. There are some other old hands that an actually talk in Russian. It's only fair.

Perhaps, Trump should also issue some carrots to Ukraine and Russia. What's in it for either party?

Ukraine needs to stop sending their population to the meatgrinder. This must stop. Their carrot is saving the Ukrainian gene-pool.

Russia wants

• de-militarization (already nearly achieved, If USA stops funding, or not).

• de-nazifiation (who likes Nazis? OK, grounds for a list, just saying, Nuland, Sullivan, Blinken, and some war-criminals in Canada at the top - Trump team is dying to remove these people from the payroll and security clearances);

• no NATO (also nearly achieved, keep going, and it will collapse under it's own perceived weight - so could even be a separate carrot for Europeans to 'save' NATO).

• Plus Russia wants some minor details such as elections in Ukraine to find out what the people want (Trump likes elections - oh and do the people want to stop the war? Let's ask);

• freedom of speech, in any language (Trump like this too);

• freedom of religion (You'll never see Trump criticize someone who practices).

So the Russian carrot is: getting that stuff done, legitimately, and visibly. But guess what? They do not need USA to agree to it, they will make sure that they will ahcieve it, anyway.

So in a way, the carrot is: Let's make peace now, we agree to all of it, and save a bunch of hassle.
