Grok says that the only land that the UN owns in the US is their HQ. That doesn't mean that some billionaire didn't buy it for them.
The site was originally owned by William Zeckendorf a real estate developer. He sold it to Nelson Rockefeller in 1946. In Dec. of 46 Rockefeller donated it to the UN.
