The confirmation of Jeff Sessions as Attorney General was voted along party lines, similar to the current situation, with the notable exception of Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), who voted in favor. Shortly after the commencement of Trump's first term, Democrats asserted that Russia had meddled in the 2016 presidential election, citing the Steele Dossier as evidence. However, the Dossier has since been demonstrated to be a fabricated falsehood.

The Democratic Party often positions itself as the champion of integrity, truth, and liberty during periods of Republican governance. It is my belief that the broader public perceives these behaviors as quite evident.
