Holy Father, I am rejoicing this morning because I actually can. Our brains are wired a singular way: if we smile, endorphins are released into our bloodstream to benefit our body: the physical act of contracting our zygomatic muscles causes the sensation of happiness. That is a virtuous circle for which there is not opposite equivalent. There is nothing I can do by myself to induce the physical consequences of sadness. You made us joyous and this joy begins the moment we decide to smile. I pray everyone feeling down just considers this and blesses himself with just a smile.
AGENDA
👉🏻 Today we celebrate Brigid of Kildare.
Saint Brigid of Kildare or Saint Brigid of Ireland (Irish: Naomh Bríd; Classical Irish: Brighid; Latin: Brigida; c. 451 – 525) is the patroness saint (or 'mother saint') of Ireland, and one of its three national saints along with Patrick and Columba. According to medieval Irish hagiographies, she was an abbess who founded the important abbey of Kildare (Cill Dara), as well as several other convents of nuns. […] They say Brigid was the daughter of an Irish clan chief and an enslaved Christian woman, and was fostered in a druid's household before becoming a consecrated virgin. She is patroness of many things, including poetry, learning, healing, protection, blacksmithing, livestock and dairy production. In her honour, a perpetual fire was kept burning at Kildare for centuries.
👉🏻 Today, in 1552, was born Edward Coke.
Coke was particularly influential in the United States both before and after the American War of Independence. During the legal and public campaigns against the writs of assistance and Stamp Act 1765, Bonham's Case was given as a justification for nullifying the legislation, and in the income tax case of 1895, Joseph Hodges Choate used Coke's argument that a tax upon the income of the property is a tax on the property itself to have the Supreme Court of the United States declare the Wilson–Gorman Tariff Act unconstitutional. This decision ultimately led to the passage of the Sixteenth Amendment. The castle doctrine originates from Coke's statement in the Third Institutes that "A man's home is his castle – for where shall he be safe if it not be in his house?", which also profoundly influenced the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution; the Third Amendment, on the other hand, was influenced by the Petition of Right. Coke was also a strong influence on and mentor of Roger Williams, an English theologian who founded the Rhode Island colony in North America and was an early proponent of the doctrine of separation of church and state.

See you tomorrow, Frens!🤓
Thank you.
I actually am against organized religion. Not that I dislike these people, but just that I won’t subscribe to a group bigger than the local parish.🙏🏻
