It doesn't surprise me. Tom's real account is @RealTomHoman but it only has a blue check - not a grey check. The grey check denotes a government official. Elon doesn't have a grey check either.

It's somewhat confusing because both have important duties in government, but I guess since they are serving POTUS and not directly in a cabinet department there is a difference.
