Thank you I agree - but it's gonna be a heck of a fight so I think we gotta put sights on it. This would be one heck of a 5d chess move I honestly have no idea how the law gets changed because senators are not going to vote themselves out.
only problem is, last time they were voting to increase their power/independence. Now they would be voting to give that all away - and i very much doubt you could get 2/3 of them to agree to it
We do here, on both levels. I’m in NV. Our Attorney General is a democrat and there is a democrat majority in our state senate. Las Vegas has a lot of power over all things NV. Our Governor is a Republican but I’m not sure he’s legit. He was the Sheriff in Vegas when that mass shooting happened. I think he got the governorship as a reward for burying the truth.
You bring up a good point - I don't think it's a dealbreaker though - perhaps if the amendment is repealed or superseded by a new one then this could be addressed
It is worse than most realize. Senators of a state must receive all pay and benefits from the state they represent. Emoluments from non state or foreign sources are grounds for treason under all state constitutions. Federal gov’t is a foreign entity to the sovereign state. Problem: a US Treasury-owned Municipal Service Corp (MSC) has been placed ON TOP of each sovereign state in violation of Article IV, Section 4. “Corporate form of gov’t” in states is Constitutionally PROHIBITED, explicitly. Sovereignty has been usurped.

Would it be helpful to institute Term Limits for Senators? Perhaps. But that doesn't go far enough to correct the real issue, which is the Seventeenth Amendment (funny how that number shows up).
Recall that the constitution specifically calls for Senators to be Appointed by the various State Legislatures, to act as their representative in Washington. The way it was designed, there was no reason for term limits because Senators were nothing more than functionaries who were there to make sure individual state governments had a say in Federal issues.
Contrast that with the House, which was elected by the citizens and had term limits as part of that. To keep corruption to a minimum.
Then the SEVENTEENTH amendment was ratified during the same time period as the income tax, federal reserve, etc. and it changed Senators from being appointed to being directly elected. So now we have two different groups both directly elected, but one without term limits.
And now here we are. In order to restore power to the states, the senators don't just need term limits - they need to be returned to their original place in the checks and balances. No more direct election of senators.
Therefore all good Patriots must be in favor of a complete and total REPEAL of THE 17TH AMENDMENT.
The Constitutional Checks and Balances must be restored as part of the Rebuilding of our Nation's foundations.
This subject was covered very well in Mark Levin's book, "The Liberty Amendments." The way the Constitution was set up was that the people elected their Representatives in the House, and the state legislatures appointed that state's Senators. That way, it gave the States as much representation in Congress as the People. Under the current system, the states HAVE no representatives in Congress, and the 17th Amendment should be repealed.
It will not happen since it takes a 2/3rds majority vote I believe and it will not happen UNTIL all the corruption is exposed---which Trump is in the process of doing!
That's at the very top,of what we have to do to fix America.

Same way it was changed last time.
A constitutional amendment repealing it.

The states can do it without them.
A constitutional convention with 2/3 of the states.
Yes, but this could backfire. We have corrupt state legislatures. We have to fix those, too.
We have renegade senators, that don't represent the state or the people in the state.

Governors a puppet as you say.

Same issue with all “Representatives”.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!! That was a huge mistake. Idiots.

Yep. A senators pay MUST come from their respective states. No more federal retirements etc.
