I know this will be unpopular here, and I'm certainly for deporting illegal aliens, but this is absolutely 1A protected speech, just as is flashing your headlights to oncoming traffic to let them know there's a cop hiding waiting around the corner.
I'm fully aware they are using it to help people break the law, and not because they have journalistic integrity, but reporting information about law enforcement activity is exactly what a free press should be doing. If someone is leaking confidential information, there are laws in place to prosecute them. If there is direct interference with an investigation, there are laws in place to prosecute the offenders.
When cheering on authoritative power to enforce things you like, remember that given enough time, the pendulum WILL swing the other direction, and that same power can and will be used for things you don't like.
