The penny shouldn't be worth less, it should be worth more. If you want metal backed money, as the value of the metal increases, the strength of the money would be worth MORE. The penny should be "worth" .03c priced in worthless fed currency vs a metals backed US treasury issued coin.
Lol I went to bank today and ordered 5 cases of pennys ! I have a safe with thousands of dollars in reg coins for my kids to have . One safe is silver and gold coins and one is reg coins . Dollar, halfs quarters dimes nickles and pennys . I actually found many silver halves while going through the cases !
I could kick myself in the butt for not getting into stacking and coin roll searching decades ago. Started stacking less than 2 years ago and am contemplating coin roll searching. I work overnights as a security guard and could use a side hustle that fits in with the job. I have watched some coin roll channels on YouTube, but the golden age of that is over.
Can you share your experiences in ordering coin boxes from banks? I bank with Schwab and Wells Fargo. schwab would be a no-go since they don't deal in cash.
I started buying cases of reg coins in 2020 , I ho to chase and order it takes a week . What’s nuts is I have hundreds of plastic tubes full of halves . Even though u pay . 50 many are worth a couple dollars some 20 30 bucks depending on the coin of course there are those ones worth a lot more of u have a special date matched with other stamps like the mint etc . I never got into selling any . But I got all the presidents , the dollar coins ,, some presidents Kennedy and others are really hard to find . I have hundreds of the sacaweia Indian girl spelled wrong . These coins are the ones where you can make some money because they have all different kinds and some of the coins on the back have all these different symbols or whatever and many are very very hard to find I may get two of each out of a couple hundred coins. The dollar coins are either ghd presidents the Indian girl or Susan b Anthony , then I have hundreds and hundreds of dollars in all the different halves , and so forth . The reason I got it is because hearing about how the dollar was going to be no good I heard that coins are different money . I don’t know how to explain it but someone on here did once , that the coins are on a whole different system and you’ll always be able to spend them even when the dollar is gone , anyway someday they’ll be worth money for my kids they’ll just sit for years and years in the safe , it’s a lot of work every case I get I soak in a little bit of dish soap and some vinegar cause they’re filthy you know that and then I stack them by years in separate containers so it’s just like shelves and shelves and shelves of plastic containers of coins.
Wow! I have no children and my wife I have built a home for in her country and she has her own retirement income as well. She is 11 years younger. So i'm mainly interested in finding the 90% silver coins to build towards my re-retirement.
My main thrust has been stacking metals. I had fiat currency in the bank, so I bought with that to get started. Since then I have stacked by leveraging credit cards. I go after cards with welcome bonuses, decent cashback, and 0%APR.
As an example, I just now got approved for a card spend 1,000 in 3 months and get 200 Dollar welcome bonus, 1.5% cash back, and 0 APR for 12 months. So when card arrives I will buy 1,000 dollars worth of silver bullion as close to the spot price as possible. 200 welcome and 15 bucks cashback so I'm ending up at 21.5% below spot minus the bullion dealers CC fee and whatever their premium is at the time. Coinhuskers a LCS who sells online as well Youtube, Whatnot, etc... sells silver bars at 50 cents over spot and buys them back at spot. He accepts PayPal but charges 3% fee, so his Premium is a bit over 1.5% and the 3% PayPal So I'm way ahead of even paying cash.
Every CC offer is different and using this technique applies to any purchases even food. I have a butt load of CC I have done this with, but I'm almost out of banks lol. Cards with high limits work well to do the same thing with gold, but fractional gold has too high of a premium, so 1 oz or above.
I pay off the silver purchases ASAP, but have 1 high limit card I bought gold with and it has 14 months of 0 APR so I will pay that off in the nick of time. lol
I have borrowed and paid back a huge amount without paying 1 cent of interest and currently owe a substantial amount at 0 APR. No risk when you buy for less than spot, metals are soaring, and you can sell some to pay off the debt if needed.. My SS check covers my cost of living basics, so my FT and PT jobs or going towards the debt.
People are afraid to leverage their credit, and for most folks it may be a bad idea. For people who can discipline spending and avoid interest, it can be a boon. My FICO score was 803-822 depending where checked. Its now 737-788. The important thing to note is that I no longer drive (eyesight) and have no plans to own real estate in the USA again, we have a home abroad paid for. So I don't need to max out my FICO.

I think his he was giving us his 2 cents, ie. the game is pointless to watch, pennies are more important.
