Trash food will become the new currency.
In many ways it already was. Half the population living paycheck to paycheck and blowing their money on fast food and processed poison crap.
Quite a diabolical yet interesting caste system they've created. Create slaves who will further enslave their bodies willingly, then take that even further when considering the entire Healthcare & pharma racket that accompanies the dubious food industry.
This is the comment of the day, for my money. Read the above again... It was always the plan to drag us down as a population and "create slaves" as OP said. As a nutritionist myself, it is easy to understand that our bodies have no choice but to reject the processed food we feed it. It can't use any of it. So, where does it go? Well, in the quantities we eat, we can't pee it all out so it gets stored. Viola! An entire population of obese, addicted minions that can't properly defend themselves. In fact, the government at that point could probably trade food for the remaining guns we had. By the looks of society, we were close...
