I truly picture cloning as more of an evil than IVF...but I am reminded that there was genetic manipulation even in the Old Testament that God was not happy with...at least IFV isn't genetically manipulating babies...but you do have to account for fertilized ova because those are human beings. I am glad people that would make great parents are able to get pregnant through IVF, even though great caution and respect needs to accompany this procedure.
Everything comes with such a thin line between the good it does versus the potential for evil. I think I have read that they use some of the excess sperm and eggs to grow babies in labs...that is definitely very evil. But we know they use young girls to impregnate so they have a steady flow of children...no birth certificates necessary. There is a lot of evil that can come from something that can really make a difference in a good, loving home. Such is the nature of technology and invention. I have a family member going through this because the MTHFR mutation has made the young woman unable to get pregnant. What a slippery slope for all this!

Yes once you go down the rabbit holes on this one IVF may have a very dark side. All too often in this world Good is being used to cover over Evil. I would be very concerned with storing my tiny frozen babies in a lab where it could possibly be stolen. Also these parents have to renew the storage contract each year and pay a fee to continue. What happens to those embryos where mom and dad stopped paying the bill. Did they get discarded or did they get sold? Where there’s money to be made there is usually corruption. Of course we will only hear about all the wonderful stories of parents who were able to give birth to their child. No one wants to look at the dark side behind all that happiness.
IVF is both a blessing and a curse. You are correct about the thin line between good and evil. Look at POTUS how much Good he has done already? But will he be able to prevent evil from entering his plans? Can Musk be fully trusted in the long run being he is a trans-humanist? So many questions left unanswered and only time will tell. We all need to do our best and stay true to God until the end.
Oh...I agree and you are so spot on with my thoughts and beliefs as to not just the current events but what I have seen throughout my very long lifetime. It seems like everyone is controlled by someone higher up (or down) and it just ends in the age-old conflict of satan warring against God...I just hate that there are so many good applications for technology that eventually are used for evil. I often imagine what could be if the evil people would use their minds for good...
I read the book Who Should Play God...written in 1977 by Jeremy Rifkin and it really made an impression on me about the legal and moral aspects of so much of the technology that was being developed. There was also a series of articles, that I think were published in Look Magazine in the late 60's, that I did a term paper on which covered the same type of questions. People knew how much conflict there would be in the future over the emerging technology. It really affects so much. It has gotten to the point that the morality is hard to discern when there is such a dichotomy of purpose...
We aren't creating them in a lab, we are aiding the fertilization process for parents having difficulty. Then it goes back in the body, and the body is growing the baby as God intended. Do you think IVF life is an abomination? Do you think people born with the hep of IVF are abominations?
Exactly, God instructed us to multiply. We need more families.
He never instructed us to play God and create them ourselves in a lab. That’s manipulating with God’s creations.
