When Andrew Wakefield was doing his research on the MMR vaccine, he found a high incidence of autism among the vaccinated. This led to his professional crucifixion and he suffered immensely. He left England and now is in America.

He published a terrible study (n=8) and faked the data at that. He did a terrible disservice by giving the vaxxers ammo against the voices of dissent. He rightly lost his license.
