I know this banya, and it is not uncommon for banya's or spas to have gender restrictions on certain days of the week. Korean and Japanese are strictly gender separated actually. This one is primarily Russian, so likely not their fault, I don't think they are "woke" but I think they're experiencing all the trans visitors due to the area they're in (SF).

The whole "we respect trans ppl blah blah" is just to try and retain customers while their intent was legitimately to have a women's only night as they have had for years

Although in my opinion what they shouldn't do is capitulate by saying "identify as women" night and "actual female" night. I think they should truly just stand on a side here. They are a business though, and they probably fear the woke wrath
