I agree with the zoning, but low-income does not equal low-life. Especially since the dollar has lost 95% of it's value over the last 100 years. It's mostly about demographics, an uncomfortable idea for most.
There are low-income people I 100% trust with my life, my money, my kids.
And if there is ONE thing I've learned as an Anon it's that there are lots of very rich low-lifes.
I'm glad you had better experience than I did, I lived in the same neighborhood almost my whole life till I retired. It went from a working-class neighborhood with single family homes to apts. to a neighborhood with street gangs, bordello, drug dealers & illegal aliens. My home was burglarized 5 times & they played loud music almost constantly, sometimes all night. As soon as retired I moved away & I don't miss it.
^ This is the most common experience and why the low life comment was made. It starts with helping single mothers who import the next baby daddy in. Disturbances start and then escalate into crime. This drives the neighborhood down. Cycle intensifies.
