I don’t remember who it was but someone said that to eliminate the income tax completely in favor of tariffs we would have to charge other countries 75%. Off course that’s based on the current us budget. Perhaps with Doge we can get it down to 50% but that’s still pretty high and very unlikely to succeed. POTUS always talks a big game to excite us but it doesn’t always work out the way we hope. Still I’m sure he has a plan and many of the things he has done already will bring the country more wealth.

But Trump and Lutnick should have known this from before the election.
Almost all of the federal government's revenue comes from income/payroll/corporate taxes.
It's over 90%.
So ... what is their plan for "no income tax" or "getting rid of the IRS?"
They don't have one.
So, next best is to change the story line.
Trump couldn't even deal with an honest budget proposal, that he KNEW even before coming into office needed to get done by March.
He has done some great things -- closing the border being the most important.
