I never ever understood why some Americans got into the whole royal thing - I had friends who watched the wedding and got really into it. I just never got it - isn't the best part of being American being that you don't HAVE to simp for inbred condescending freaks who just want to lord over you?
I've been watching Poldark lately and it shows the pompous ass nature of the English class system. (it's setting in the late 1700's) I imagine it remains much like that today among the so called royals and elites. I can see why those that left for america created the USA and wrote the constitution as they did stating all men are created equal, etc. They really wanted to get away from that shit.
It is "The Great Chain of Being" at play. God, then King, Royals, Aristocrats, etc. to the subhuman scullary maids. AKA us. It's a big club and we're not in it.

It is shit, and we are well away from it.
Poldark is just drivel, its isn't called OLDKRAP for nothing. My Cornish friends hate it like they hate Ginsters pasties.
Perhaps you live in the UK? I can see then why you feel that way. The show, like any, is not for everyone. I enjoyed though.
Didn't we fight a war to get away from these types?
Royalty is really no more than an unusual form of communism
