I don't know what happened during the JFK assassination (I was in 7th grade gym class when our entire school found out), but I do know the files have been around for a long time, and some of them may have been "doctored" to sway some people's opinions of the murder. Do I know for sure? No. Can I imagine that they wouldn't want the full story out? Yes. I can not confirm that any of the files may, or may not, have been tampered with, but it might make some sense.
