Jack Ramm was his name. 2'nd pilot on a bomber in I believe Nos. 302 or 303 (RAF) and lasted the duration. He was Polish. Physically a large man I recall with a huge hook nose. Dark complexion and huge hands. I am a large individual myself (6'4) but he was larger.
When he passed mid 70's his body was flown to Israel. Fighter planes met the civilian plane as soon as they entered Israeli air space and preformed a honor roll for all the passengers to see.
At funeral the Israeli PM Golda Meir and head of Mossad attended with a large group of top Israeli leadership.
Who was this guy really. Supposedly he was one of two who stole the Egyptian fighter planes. Also involved in the French plutonium deal incl the missing MTB's.
