I would like them to meet for a few weeks and then go back to their regular jobs,kind of like our state legislature here in oklahoma.

I know it's probably not possible,but they seam to cause less trouble this way.

They could be assigned Administrative tasks. Lord knows there’s probably clerks or someone in the bureaucracy occupying Jobs whose duties could be done by Congressmen. Or they could operate as the Administrators/City Government of Washington D.C. which is part of what Congress was expected to do when Washington D.C was initially founded. In order to keep the Capital “Neutral Ground”.

Hell. Forcing them to continuously interact with their constituency outside of organized town halls and events might be helpful.

Have them work a cycle of part-time gigs. Get to know what the low end of the Social/Economic Totem pole in their constituency spends their days doing.

Bagging Groceries, Flipping Burgers, Stocking Shelves, Customer Service. Interspersed with more manual labor gigs like Day Laborer, Assembly Line worker, Landscaper etc. I think it’d beneficial for most of them including the principled Republicans/Libertarian ‘Good ones’ in Congress. It may add a certain degree of moral weight to their voting habits. When they have names and faces to pair with the Bill and what its effects could be. Instead of vague generalities. Or ideas they got from political/Economic theory classes/Books. Restore the Human factor.

That and it would probably go a long way towards humanizing ‘the Government’ in the eyes of the general population. As much as it’s an American pastime to hate the Government. It’s probably not particularly good for the overall long-term health of the country. To make hating your elected government a source of National Pride.
