The attack was carried out with the use of an FPV drone, the Russian Defense Ministry said. Against the backdrop of the Russian-US talks held in Riyadh on March 24, Ukraine continued to attack Russian energy facilities, violating the agreements on cessation of energy strikes.
@Slavyangrad
Russia appears to be maintaining their side of the (previous) bargain.
The Ukrainians are shooting themselves in the foot by breaking their end.
The Ukrainian leadership is doing exactly what the Deep State Cabal tells them to do. Zelensky is a puppet being controlled.
He’s going full Churchill now, praying to drag USA in as the EU armies are pitiful.
Sort of the definition of insanity - doing the same thing over-and-over again without any benefiial results.
Also, the Ukrainians are behaving like out-of-contol attack-dogs, attacking passer's-by on the footpath, while the owners are having drinks together, and deciding who is going to build the new dog-house.
He’s desperate. The problem is if he is replaced, they’ll just replace him with another maniac. ‘All the way to the Dnipro River’.
I like these arm-chair general big-arrow discussions, even as I think only very few people know where the iron curtain 2.0 will land. I have seen some say such a border is essential, just as Trump is building a wall - to control the flow of goods and people. But this problem can be addressed with trade-agreements that limit differential pricing between neighboring countires, and shared security agreements, so that criminals can be caught on either side of the said border (Ahem, as Trump is doing). My point is: Address the root-causes of the disagreement that causes a fortified border in the first place. (Good friends don't need fortified fences, but a simple wooden fence can still make things better for everyone. For one thing, it stops the dog bothering the neighbors.)
The Dniepr is sensible and historically-based border - it requires crossing, so bridges are natural and affordable choke points, but what of Odessa? Putin has said it is a beautiful Russian city. One should go there and see. Also, he popped into a Istanbul-agreement-plus-style speach, the concept of Novorussya, which includes the entire coast, and joins up with Transnistria, and possibly some of Moldova. Long term plans, perhaps, but certainly, Novorussya encapsulates the entire coast.
TBH, I think that most people occupying the territory 'known as' Ukraine would vote to join Russia at this point, just for pragmatic reasons: they speak Russian, or they are Orthodox Christians. And it will be that basic. It will be very interesting to see a election/referendum on an oblast-by oblast basis. Many speculate that this will painlessly transfer more territory to Russia. And the people will have chosen to do so. Let the pure Ukrainians have their little province, then. (As Poland is already building an Iron Curtain at their border). One oblast will become surrounded by iron curtains. ReeeEEEeee.
Ultimately, I think USA will agree, because everyone will want to discuss and turn to lucrative re-construction contracts, and a modus vivendi between superpowers, (and those who cannot afford to fund re-building should shut up) as it should be, and that task must be shared between superpowers, just as it was at Yalta. With a difference, this time, in that the people get to choose, not some stuffy elites around a table.
Oh Odessa. Lots of nazis there. I’m stumped to hear POTUS even say they (USA) could go in with Russia and build a magnificent resort area!!! Unbelievable. How would Americans feel if Russia moved into Grand Teton National Park and put up skyscrapers as far as the eye could see? The two cultures are miles apart!!
I agree with those oblasts wishing to go back to Russia. Heck I watch a couple of families on YT that have left the West and are so happy they are in Russia. Their neighbours have helped so much (building a farm) with lending tractors (until theirs arrived) and every other day they receive mail with beautiful gifts. While he hasn’t mentioned the cost of medical, he is much more appreciative of drs. trying different methods (has a back injury going back a long time) and one dr appt he was asked about headaches (which he gets) and it looks like that may be the issue. But he said the medical drs. wouldn’t give up on him. Couple of children have glasses and every time his family have been humbled by the care given to them. That’s all a family wants. Putin has just signed into law the protection of children against LBGT and trans dogma. This is not just schools but within society too.
