That is why I said “Faux” hippie. It’s what I call the people who are the right generation but more Karen then then flower child. I knew some actual hippies as a kid and they seemed way different than those who are “activists “. The hippies I knew really just believed in letting people do whatever they wanted but wanted to be left alone to do them. Libertarian hippies I guess lol. They explained to me that the hippie movement got taken over and politicalized and most of the people talking the talk and wearing the clothes were destroying the concepts. They were parents of a friend and honestly amazing parents and defied most of the ideas that goes with that word. They were hardworking extremely clean and taught their kids that monogamy was key to true love. They farmed their own food and gave a bunch to others. Thus why I say faux. I guess in my mind that is what I came to exp from “hippies”
