...one could buy a refrigerator for what a yeti cooler cost...
FACTS: I don’t know when the price of coolers went up so high, but if you’re in Hawaii and you try to buy a cooler, the prices are outrageous. The yeti coolers run anywhere from $300-$1000. They supposedly keep your food cold for a week, but who uses it for a week? Nobody. I ended up getting one at Costco, and then I got a recall notice that I need to take it back. I’m headed back to Hawaii next week again for a month, and I have to get a new cooler again. It was still $90 from Costco.
It's always been appalling how ridiculously overpriced Yeti specifically, but all of these new style coolers cost.
I've never had any problems with the $20-50 range Coleman coolers. Use em for a few yrs, then retire one as a butcher/fish cooler and buy a new clean one. I'd completely ruin a fancy cooler within a couple of years with how much fish & game I process.
