Lee and Tuberville Introduce Bill to Abolish the TSA
Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) today introduced the Abolish the TSA Act, which would dissolve the bloated and ineffective Transportation Security Administration while allowing America’s airports to compete to provide the safest...
When I stopped flying, this was one of the reasons why. They asked me at work why I didn't want to go travel any more, and I said I would when they privatize TSA and start profiling.
Now that they have that stupid Real ID thing going on, Nah, still not gonna fly any more.
Yeh, the reasons not to fly have stacked up and outweighed the reasons to fly.
Air travel is completely unlike ground transportation in the risk/benefit ratio.
People love to trumpet about flying being safer than driving on a highway, but I find that patently absurd.
Compare the number of car trips occurring annually and the crashes involved to the number of air trips occurring annually and the crashes involved. As a percentage of total trips taken, car travel sees far fewer accidents. Plus! When your airplane does crash, you can kiss your ass goodbye. Automobile accidents involve approximately 1-2% fatality risk.
Additionally, having no idea how many DEI hires and "severely mentally disabled" individuals are involved in the maintenance and operation of the aircraft I'd be trusting my life to has a way of erasing my enjoyment of any perceived benefits flying would provide.
Plus the food sucks. Am I right, Seinfeld? ;p
Wish I could just drive but unfortunately, I don't have enough vacation to drive everywhere.
