Putting hands on people is not ok. You can protest all you want. But if you can't handle being confronted with a counter argument walk away. The looser always chooses violence. Are you willing to go down that road.?
The guy getting his face and hat slapped off, is justified in confronting his attacker. Now they are throwing hands.

Nothing is funnier than bums at bars when you pull guard and smack a triangle on them. They think they're in control until they are blacking out seeing animated tweety birds and stars.
