Cesar Sayoc was given a life sentence for sending fake bombs in the mail. He lived in his van a mile from a Florida synagogue that had previously worked with the FBI in setting someone up with a fake bomb.

On the Saturday after Sayoc's fake bombs had been located there was a mass shooting at a Philadelphia synagogue. The rabbi at the Florida synagogue had grown up in Philadelphia and attended the mass shooting synagogue as a kid. In fact his father had been the rabbi there and had attended every Saturday service for decades. All except on that particular day of the shooting when he decided to stay at home to care for his sick wife.
