As my handle suggests, what I want is to be free of Ottawa. I want Wexit, an exit of Western Canada from Confederation.
My top choice would be for us (Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the northerly, easterly portions of BC if they'd join us) to go it alone. I like and admire America but, truth be told, we are not you. We would be an excellent neighbour and friend for America and a self-motivated counterweight to Ottawa on this continent.
However, if I had to choose between distant capitals who care little about us, I'd choose D.C. over Ottawa.
I totally agree with you, just as with South Africa, I want everyone to have their Homeland but if the only way is to have Sanctuary with the US then so be it. We'll pray that this crazy world will get straightened out soon. 🙏
