Hanging is too good.

Most execution methods are quick and low-ish on the pain scale.
Nothing... nothing in this world could be more painful than being burned alive.

Perhaps some very select crimes should be eligible for that method of execution… With maybe only the family of the victim having the authority to allow a different method.
