Just curious. if they dont got their shit together why should we even pay them? I've seen lots of frens file for extensions, or some are not even gonna bother with paying. Whatre your thoughts?

Gave them a little over two grand a couple of weeks ago. I'm now hoping for a refund of some sort, my wife and I shall see. But our thinking was if you don't pay the government can still come and get you for not paying. I don't feel like sitting in jail for a while nor having to defend myself with a high priced lawyer. It was a lot cheaper than to pay and hope for a refund than pay a lawyer to keep me out of jail. Trump is the President, yet he's still not fully in control of the IRS. Some unelected bureaucrat can wreck havoc on a pro Conservative.
My husband paid our taxes. I suggested that maybe we should hold off, but he pointed out that we'd been audited for no reason, hounded over a 165 dollar error on their part, and we're both too old to go through a bunch of crap over money. Nearly every year we've been harassed by the IRS, and our time is more important than money.
