Notably, this week the Maryland legislature took the relevant curriculum at issue (transgender ideology and human sexuality, etc) out of the local school board control and put it under the control of the State legislature. The state version restored the parental opt out (to some extent) based on religious liberty and parental rights (which are at issue in the case). I think they want this to go away pretty badly to avoid the Supremes from coming down on the parent's side by potentially mooting the case, i.e. no case or controversy left to decide. While this may look good from some perspectives, the state has now taken control of all curriculum away from local school boards! Maryland = the California of the East where the Deep State lives!

FYI: The other case Oklahoma Charter School v. Drummond Catholic Charities v. Wisconsin Labor Relations has already been argued. I could find no mention of Justice Barrett.

I see a potential problem with these cases of religious freedom, and that's with the Muslim faith. Their doctrine expressly states their intolerance of any other faith - to the point of mandating murder for anyone rejecting Islam. This "faith" is not compatible with the US Constitution and should be outlawed in the United States.
