This was the primary goal for the tariffs. For most nations, it's a way to negotiate better terms. For the CCP, it's all been about setting fire to the paper tiger. They are cooked, and from what I've been seeing, the population has been becoming far more vocal and protesting recently. A China free from tyranny in our lifetime? Perhaps.
