I was there many times during 2010-2012 even then freshly after the expensive upgrades it was kind of a shithole. The bottom level was totally abandoned except one weird temu dollar store. Tons of empty store fronts and hardly any shoppers. I'm sure it's only more crime and drug ridden now. Amazon and online shopping have killed malls
Whats odd regarding Shopping Malls is that they are Wildly popular in SE Asia. Huge malls you get tired of walking around before you see all the shops. However people aren't buying armloads of goods, you never see anyone loaded down with bags, they have little disposable income. They hit the food courts and are there for the A/C.
It's near where i live. I only went there once and was overwhelmed by the size of it. Too big. Why do we need a Prada store? Who can afford their crap?? Never went back.
I remember when the city of Syracuse was considered an upscale location to visit (for the rest of upstate NY) back in the 80s and early-90s. The area surrounding that mall has really declined in the last ten years.
There is still open malls? I miss the malls of the 80's. Definitely a fire hazard from all the Aqua Net, but still the place to be.

Exactly. I doubt he people that can afford it are shopping at the mall store.

Now the mall has gang shootings. i was called in once to help workers deal with gang activity that freaked them out. It's a magnet for criminals.
