Not trying to be contentious but I always thought the church was the body of Christ and Israel was His bride. The 7th mystery revealed by Paul speaks of the body of Christ.
Ephesians is using a marriage as comparison in that two become one flesh the context is about the body of Christ.
Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.
Ephesians 5:28 So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; 29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, 30 because we are members of His body.
Ephesians 5:32 This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.
Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.
Romans 12:4 For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
1 Corinthians 12:20 But now there are many members, but one body.
1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it.
Colossians 1:18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
I thought all references to the Bride were spoken to Israel as the audience not gentiles.
I am coming more from a place of curiosity than trying to prove I’m right. It would be nice to understand the difference better but ultimately has little to do with salvation.
Yes, just as the thief on the cross but my question had nothing to do with being saved by faith. Perhaps “I dunno” would have been more appropriate. Thanks anyways. Carry on brother.

" It would be nice to understand"
Faith, in Jesus + nothing = salvation.
