Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

A lot of us here like supplements, natural ones even. So I wanted to reach out to our guy-anons and see if anyone is taking or could perhaps recommend a testosterone booster.
I've been curious to try one for quite some time now but trying to find one seems hit or miss reading reviews. It was just about pre-covid I was tested and supposedly on the low side of the normal range, I'm 52.
Thanks!
Fresh garlic, a clove a day, as Mod. posted recently. AI says some studies suggest it may enhance testosterone levels.
I also like adaptogenic herbs, adaptogens. Of them, I like cordyceps mushroom powder. AI also suggests maca root powder, fenugreek, and ashwagandha. I do not like ashwagandha or tumeric which others do suggest (I like cordyceps best, better for kidneys is what I read, compared to tumeric, and I forget which medical pro I read but he said even though ashwagandha is used for for and anxiety, there can be issues with it).
No guarantees with cordyceps as a stand-alone to boost testosterone, but I use it to help kidneys. A self-taught nutritionist I used to talk with has a medley mix here https://qnlabs.com/men-s-quantum-fuel.html. He lived to b 75, jogged nearly every day ’til it was his time , passing 10 years ago. I don’t like everything in his nutritional mix for men, but I share it as an example of ingredients he put together.
AI: the American ginseng can help with testosterone levels in men trying to lose weight, but has not been shown to benefit T-levels in men of normal weight. In Dr. Bob Marshall’s Quantum brand mix I also don’t like the tumeric in there. His wife also a nutritionist, continues the nutrition their brand and lab after his passing 10 years ago.
If you can’t do the garlic clove all the time (which if you do use in colder months is great for fighting off cold / boosting immune system — gently crush 1 clove and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes —> allicin compound) - Kyolic aged garlic in warmer months when you don’t have to worry about colds & the flu as much, Kyolic has SAC S-allyl cysteine which may help increase testosterone ( AI says it does so in animal studies, it just does not protect against the flu & other colds as 1 clove gently crushed does.
Wow, quite the reply, thanks! The garlic thing would be easy enough to add to my lunch for a daily.
I've heard of cordyceps, maybe here or maybe a podcast I'd seen. I tried a couple mushroom supplements from PetClub247 a few months back but a little pricey for me as a regular. I thought I had a couple other places bookmarked, maybe one with cordyceps, I'll have to look through.
I'd never heard of "adaptogenic" until a few months back watching I think a Dr Ardis show and the guys shop was a play on psilocyben.
Thank you, some good info to look into here.
Happy Resurrection Day brother!
