Love the Saint Augustine quote at the end - it's a great reminder that Jesus' perfect life is as necessary for salvation as His death and resurrection.
All rivers lead to the ocean. (God is in control, and His Will will be done no matter what. So we can be at peace inside.) However, he uses us to create the rises in the river banks and other barriers that will move it to where he wills.
So, we can have joy, trust, and peace in God WHILE we work endlessly to educate ourselves and create changes for the better.
How do get three days and three nights between Good Friday and Easter Sunday?
For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (Matthew 12:40, ESV)
You can't get three days and three nights between Friday and Saturday. People assume that He was crucified on Friday because the Jews wanted to remove Him from the cross before the Sabbath on Saturday. What they don't understand is that there were two Sabbath days between the time that Jesus died and His resurrection. There was a special "High" Sabbath day that began the Feast of Unleavened Bread on Thursday, and then the regular Sabbath day the following Saturday. Jesus was crucified on Wednesday and buried Wednesday night. Then he was in the ground Thursday and Thursday night, Friday and Friday night, Saturday and Saturday night. Then, He rose Sunday morning. We should be celebrating Good Wednesday instead of Good Friday! Do some research and see if you agree. God bless.
