Darkness

In the Catholic Church after a Pope's death, there's a time known as the "Ten Days of Darkness". This period is marked by the body being embalmed, displayed, and prayers and masses held in churches worldwide."

Could this time period be what Q was referring to?

It could be a reference to the Gregorian calendar that removed 10 days (done by the pope)

The Gregorian and Julian calendars are not ten days apart, but 13 days. That is why 12/25 is celebrated on 1/7. Thirteen days.
