Couple things might be off here. As MuckeyDuck pointed out the mice are transgenic, not transgender.

The contract was awarded under Biden-Harris and is still active until the end of May 2025, and could be extended if Bhattacharya doesn’t take immediate action.

Some of transgenic mice experimentation was renewed, but not the beagles.
