I'll just comment that Cates doesn't write for us, he rights for a much more normie level of the broader community. I don't need to like him to see that he might be contributing to the work.

Final point (before reading Cates' essay), working out how and where "you're watching a movie' applies, in what sectors, etc, takes a LOT of grunt work and healthy examination, considering lots of conflicting arguments.

But I do wonder about the Ukraine situation now. Pre-Jan 2025, I was pretty sure Zelensky was a flipped piece and a white-hat controlled instrument (captured piece). But now, I'm not so sure. His constant gainsaying of Trump is curious...
