Although I'm still Canadian, I have officially left Alberta and I'm no longer a resident there (I now live in Malta, EU), and am no longer a tax resident of Canada. Actually I asked the AI, what does this mean for me? Because I'm still the Canadian citizen, but I am unable to vote in this referendum. I would definitely try to get American citizenship if it were possible through this method however. It would drive me nuts if I lost the chance!
It's hilarious how many people on Twitter or elsewhere have said, yeah, pussy, you will leave Canada just like the rest of us won't. In the last year I have spent over 400k USD on consultants, lawyers, advocates, And I'm various fees and involuntary donations, but I am now a resident in the best tax jurisdiction on the planet.
I'm worried about surviving the summer though. I hear it gets unbelievably, unbelievably hot here
But this development could be the absolute best thing to ever happen to Canada. Canada is basically not a nation anymore anyway. It is one of the most corrupt globalist governments on the planet and that's why I left. Those of us truly watching Canada saw Mark Carney coming as PM 2 years ago. After A decade of Trudeau, I figured the writing was on the wall. In my view, the only way to fix Canada was to support Trump. He's the only one that could save us. Let's hope Trump absolutely wipes the floor with this guy. He's fearless. He has the people. Fingers crossed.
EDIT: ONE OTHER THING! A Canadian team has not won the Stanley Cup and something like 35 years. Mostly the reason has to do with players that refuse to play in Canada due to the incredibly terrible tax situation. Maybe this could also mean that a Canadian team will finally win the cup, once they are no longer technically Canadian!
Me, too! What say you? u/catsfive
