I would be less concerned about freeing 'humanity' than freeing America and the West. We've tried exporting democracy and it's been a huge failure... the rest of the world is not amenable to democracy, but seems to prefer tribalism, monarchy, dictators, and totalitarianism.
If we can save the West, and particularly America, I'm fine with that, speaking as an American.
Hopefully, some better form of a republic is incoming for us, with improved oversight capability and engagement methods, and better understanding of how it should work.

Not a better form of a Republic that is needed. A better educated and informed We The People with easy access to facts is what is needed and coming.
Just as Gutenberg Press helped the Renaissance along our Gutenberg 2.0 is speeding ours along , but the move to light speed can be jolting.
