They encouraged Film Production to leave the USA. When Michigan started offering film Tax Credits Productions swarmed up there. Only to be shocked at how badly they were fleeced by the Teamsters. Every single Trailer had to be driven to set by a Teamster Member, then they got paid until the Production wrapped. I'm sure the Teamsters have done an excellent job of keeping Blue Collar Jobs well paying in America. They are not good partners on a Film Shoot.
I've heard even worse things, that they would allegedly firebomb the trucks of any competitors that came to work there if production tried to work-around them.
The only way to work with them, is bow to them and let them know they are Gods and you are hoping they will please let you shoot your movie on budget. If you shoot a movie for 99 Dollars and sell it for 100, you shoot another movie. If you shoot a movie for 101 and sell for 100, you failed. If you have less control over your shooting cost, you don't even want to go there. UNLESS, you have to shoot at that particular location.
Working in an adjacent union in the industry - you have to understand the union leadership are all very much like crooked politicians - we didn’t “elect” these people who are the mouths of the people (not me) they were put in place and are in lockstep with the Uniparty doing as they are told.
Sure, there are plenty of brainwashed liberal union brothers and sisters but you’d be surprised at how many have been woken up over the past few decades. Especially with runaway production. The worst offender being the Disney corporation. Most if not all movie production is done outside of California… and most often done in Europe. And 75% of all physical animation is done in other countries. I hope the tariffs slap the shit out of Disney. The profiteering they’ve gotten away with over the years is inexcusable.
We need all 50 states including Canada to be “right to work” states, Example in Alaska “I” have to belong to a union to work I can’t opt out***What Is a Right-to-Work State? Full List and Key Information ...In a "right to work" state, employees, even in unionized workplaces, have the right to decide whether or not to join the union and pay dues. This means they can still benefit from the union contract and collective bargaining process without being forced to join the union or pay union dues.
I worked at an administrative job at a university, and for some reason was required to join a union. They took money out of my pay every week, but I never figured out exactly what their function was. And neither did anyone I worked with.
Unions have no say in this. Their members have to pay them. The government does not. Same with government employees who have formed their union. The union member continues to pay their dues regardless until they are no longer a member. Therefore the Union has no standing as to whether the union member has a job or not. If they lose membership they can go out and recruit more morons. They cannot force the govt to employ anyone- they have no standing.

As a former member of that group, I cannot confirm nor deny that claim.

I agree with what they're saying but…yeah, fuck the Teamsters.
Don't be fooled... Unions aren't what this country needs right now.
I don't need some hardon at a trade show hitting me up for $125 to connect to the web.
Now do something with the Music industry

"...Katy Perry will start making better music."
Well, whatever we've been doing up to this point isn't working.
