The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) provided an update to one of the biggest scams uncovered by Elon Musk’s team on Wednesday evening.
DOGE says it has saved approximately $105 billion in a “combination of asset sales, contract/lease cancellations and renegotiations, fraud and improper payment deletion, grant cancellations, interest savings,” and other workforce reductions.
The Democrats are angry that DOGE is saving American taxpayers money, so they devised a scheme to stop Elon Musk and his team.
There are currently nearly a dozen lawsuits challenging DOGE over its authority, data access, and privacy laws.
There is also a secret resistance agreement between 14 states to conduct coordinated lawfare against DOGE and Elon Musk.
DOGE recently announced that it had already deactivated 200,000 government credit cards in 16 agencies.
However, there are a total of 4.6 million active credit cards/accounts!
On Wednesday night DOGE said the program to audit unused/unneeded credit cards has been expanded to 32 agencies!
“After 10 weeks, more than 500K cards have been de-activated,” DOGE said.
Credit Card Update!

As a reminder, at the start of the audit, there were ~4.6M active cards/accounts, so still more work to do. pic.twitter.com/apdJuMFaNR

In March, Elon Musk said DOGE “found twice as many credit cards as there are humans. And these are cards with $10,000 per month limits! That’s a lot of money!”
“What’s the waste-to-fraud ratio? In my opinion, it’s 80% waste, 20% fraud,” Elon Musk said.

It's not like a company taking out their employees (I don't get taking out clients). They should have budgets set by the scope of their responsibilities. I can kind of get emergency stuff, like damage to facilities (real damage, not claiming a burst water pipe and having to evacuate 99% of people then go back in to count votes).
MSM refuses to do one, not one single story of how they're saving the American people hundreds of billions of THEIR OWN MONEY! You can't have them enough.
I'm not sure the credit card thing is as big as you think. Every employee that travels, even once, gets a credit card. It is tied to their employment, but not necessarily to a government bank account. So it should only be for business use, and possibly monitored, but up to the employee to pay, from their own account, after getting reimbursed from their agency. There is a possibility of fraud, (e.g. they max it out, as they are quitting) but for a lot of cards, not a threat or concern.
The final example given in the short video of contacts not being renewed but the payments not being turned off... management heads should roll on that one and people should be fired, not RIF'ed with an excuse for their next potential employer. The management has budget responsibility and that includes auditing AP payments for mistakes.
As a CFO, I can assure you that not everyone gets a credit card. In small businesses sometimes there is only one which is handed out for special reasons and returned to the owner. The financial person then reconciles the expenses.
This is TERRIBLE! Put some perps in jail!

I love the DOGE. No government agency should have credit cards.

What would be considered waste?

"Monitored"
